Of all the conditions afflicting us these days perhaps the most common and most insidious is those that affect our brain and our mind. The brain is the most important organ in the body. It plays a primary role in controlling all other body functions. Loss of brain function can dramaticaly effect the quality of our lives.
The most common disorders of the brain are Attention Defecit Disorder, Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder, Alzeimers and Parkinsons. In addtion to these is the gradual loss of memory that many experience as they age. Add to this the chronic fatigue, moodiness and depression that are so common and you can see how pervasive disorders of brain chemistry are. The GOOD NEWS is that many of these conditions are caused by imbalances in brain chemistry. Brain chemistry can be tested and in many cases treated succussfully and without resorting to drugs!.
In addition to condtions affecting brain chemistry are condions that affect the glands. The most common glandular disorders are those affecting the adrenal glands, thyroid and pituitary. An imbalance in any of these glands can lead to chronic fatigue, weight gain, depression, moodiness, insomnia and many more.

Mood Disorders
Mood disorders, as classified by the medical world, are rampant. In fact if you look at the astonishing number of people who are currently on mood altering drugs you would think it is an epidemic. Not only adults but the incredible widespread use of Prozac and Ritalin on our youth would have you believe that we have developed inherited deficiency of these drugs - really rather amazing. Is it possible that humans have suddenly developed a need for a new food group; antidepressants?
Energy and Fatigue
The second area where we find the western approach taking a symptomatic turn is in the area of energy and fatigue. Based on the widespread use of coffee, teas and sugar, loss of energy is a major modern complaint. For awhile it seems to work to use stimulants to increase our feeling of energy but over time this approach causes the body to run down. Over time we still have the fatigue and we need to use more and stronger stimulants to get the same benefit.

Procite is a primary Anchor formula designed to support balance in catecholamine neurotransmission. Neurotransmitters of the excitatory catecholamine family are dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine. They constitute a main biochemical response to stress, requiring upregulation of the HPA axis. In the face of a deficient inhibitory response, the catecholamine rise in response to stressors is relatively uncontrolled. Clinically, such excess excitation often results in anxiety, insomnia, even panic.
The first step in treatment is to restore inhibitory control. The second step is to address the catecholamine system. Restoring HPA balance indeed requires a proper balance between inhibition and excitation.
Procite contains key ingredients required in the catecholamine biosynthetic pathway. L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine are building blocks for the catecholamines. Vitamin B6 (P5P form) is a cofactor for the conversion of L-dopa to dopamine. SAMe is a methyl donor, required for the production of epinephrine. Selenium is added as an antioxidant while L-cysteine provides support for biosynthetic activities in this pathway. To this formula is also added the NSB blend, a combination of enzymes, essential fats and lecithin, to assist in delivery across the gut wall. NSB allows for lower doses and fewer capsules while still maintaining efficacyówhich encourages better patient compliance.
When a baseline test shows deficiency/depletion of one or more of the catecholaminesóand the patient does not present with excess excitatory conditions but complains of fatigue instead, Procite can be used in the Initial Phase of treatment to restore balance. If anxiety is an issue in such cases of depletion, Procite may still be used for repletion, but only once an adequate inhibitory system is in place. In depleted patients, Procite is usually needed throughout the Restoration Phase of treatment.
Adjunctive support for the HPA axis if often necessary as well, because depleted catecholamines implies chronic stress issues. Depression with apathy, fatigue, and lack of drive or ambition are signs of low catecholamine levels and signal a need for ongoing support. Use Procite in concert with Prolent and/or Lentra after the Initial Phase to restore HPA axis function.
