I think it is a wonderful program for cleansing and detoxify but with problems. It was developed at a time when there was much less information available then we have today. The Master Cleanser is a popular cleanse developed by Stanley Burroughs. He a 10 day program of fasting using a drink. This cleanse has lots of benefits but also some shortcomings. On the one hand it is a rest for your digestive and eliminative organs as you eat no solid food. Your intake consists of six glasses a day of a lemonade drink.
Using 2 Tablespoons of maple syrup 6-12 times daily is a huge amount of pure sugar. Given that the vast majority of Americans suffer from blood sugar fluctuations we recommend cutting the dose in half. We recommend 1 tablespoon of maple syrup per serving.
Detoxification is a complex process and requires that the detox pathways be open. This means that the liver, kidney and lymphatics need to be open. While the Master Cleanser does not really address this very well the addition of the Pekana Homeopathic Basic Detox Kit does this very well. We recommend adding 20 drops of each of these homeopathic remedies (apo-Hepat, Renelix & Itires) added to other drinks 2 to 3 times daily.
Again the Lemonaide diet is deficient. Although it reconnects salt water flushes it does little to actually cleanse the colon other then running some water through it. In addition it does little for detox of the liver. To accomplish this we recommend doing coffee enema's during the cleanse. The coffee enema is famous for rapid deep cleansing of the liver and colon.
The Master Cleanser provides little in the way of micronutrients and thus can deplete the body during the cleanse. To enhance this we recommend using the remarkable mineral product intraMin.
